Elopement in The Azores
São Miguel Island, Azores
LIMITED CAPACITY: ONLY 15 COUPLES PER YEAR
We've created something special for you so that your elopement is more than one day. It starts months before you arrive, and it stays with you throughout your entire marriage.
My name is Mar, your elopement planner and officiant, and I built the ceremony differently to not only create the most meaningful day of your lives, but to also prepare you for what may come many years after.
The wedding lasts a day. The marriage lasts a lifetime. Sea of Love was built to make your marriage last.
Love Celebration & Marriage Preparation
Most weddings and elopements are built around the photoshoot. But not with Sea of Love. Here, everything's built around your sacred union.
I only take on 15 couples a year, across elopements and vow renewals, because each one includes real preparation alongside me.
In the months leading up to your wedding day, we do the work to ensure you're truly prepared for marriage and everything that comes with it.
This way, you don't just enjoy one special day together. You enjoy the rest of the days together.
How it works
Reach Out to Me
Fill in the contact form and tell me about yourselves: your date, your vision, and the feeling you want to carry with you from this day. I'll reply within 48 hours.

We Talk & Get Aligned
We'll set up an initial 30-45 minute call to understand your wishes and vision, and discover if we're the right match.
We Choose Your Location
I help you find the most magical place for your ceremony, whether that's a lake, beach, garden, waterfall, or a viewpoint.

Mar Takes Care of The Planning
Photography, florals, catering, everything that's part of your day will be fully taken care of for you. You can focus on your marriage instead of planning.
4
Monthly preparation calls
For up to 8 months, you do the work just the two of you based on the guide I share with you, and we meet every few weeks to discuss what you've been going though.
5
6
We Design Your Ceremony
We'll have a 60-minute video call where I get to know you and your story better. From there, I'll craft a reading that's unique to you.
Your Ceremony Day
This is your day, at your pace, in your vibe. There's no rush or stress. This is your moment, and I'm there for you to help you live it to the fullest.
7
Your Ceremony
Before we part, you'll each write a letter to the other and set it aside for a future anniversary to remind you of this day when you decided to say YES to each other.

It's all about you

It's not about the flowers you pick, the dress you wear, or the venue you're at. In the moment when you're standing in a ceremony with the love of your life, all that matters is the love you have for each other.
My job and my greatest honor is to provide this special moment for you and help you create a beautiful memory that you will talk about at your 20th wedding anniversary.
Your Sacred Union

When you decide to enter into a sacred union with one another, it is not only a big step in your lives, but it's also a confession of your intentions and the most beautiful way to say, "I love you. You can always count on me. I'm not going anywhere."
I will be there for you through every moment before, during, and after your ceremony to support and keep you both grounded in any emotion or situation.
I will be your planner and officiant, but also a mentor and someone you can rely on because we will get to know each other and share this special day.

Frequently asked questions about elopements
Can we skip the marriage preparation calls if we book last-minute? No. This is one of the most important parts of your marriage that will set you up for your future together, and if we do not have enough time to fit all calls in before your ceremony, we'll create a timeline to finish the work after you return home.
Is this ceremony legally recognized?
No. This is a symbolic ceremony, deeply meaningful and completely personal, but not a civil or legal marriage. If you need a legal marriage, the most common approach is to have a simple legal registration at home before or after your trip, and hold your true celebration here in the Azores. Many couples prefer this as it lets the ceremony focus entirely on meaning rather than paperwork.
What languages can the ceremony be held in?
The ceremony can be conducted in English, Spanish, or Czech, or a combination of languages if you have multilingual guests or families.
How far in advance should we book?
Ideally, at least 2 to 3 months ahead for peak season (June–October) to ensure date availability. That said, reaching out last-minute right before your trip is worth a try. I'll always let you know what is possible on short notice, and we may work out an alternative option to our current packages.
Can we write our own vows?
Yes, and you're encouraged to. I'll guide you through the process if you're not sure where to start. Your vows can be as long or as brief as you'd like; what matters is that they're yours.
Where does the ceremony take place?
We'll choose a location together based on what resonates with you. Options include volcanic lakes, ocean cliffs, forested paths, black sand beaches, and private garden spaces across São Miguel. I know the island well and will suggest spots that match the feeling you're after.
Do you work with photographers or other vendors?
Yes. I collaborate with trusted local photographers, videographers, florists, caterers, and other vendors, and I am happy to create a package for you with the people whose work I know and respect. You're also completely welcome to bring your own team, and we'll discount the expense from your package.
How many guests can attend?
Sea of Love ceremonies are designed to be intimate. We welcome a small circle of close family and friends, up to 10 invitees.
What is included in the ceremony service?
Included are the pre-ceremony consultation calls, a fully custom ceremony reading, location scouting and coordination, my presence and officiating on the day, marriage preparation calls, florals, minimalist decoration, photographer/videographer, hair and makeup, and follow-up support if anything is needed afterward. Every ceremony is tailored; nothing is templated.
